AboutWelcome to
La Jolie Bulle
La Jolie Bulle is a bilingual Home Nursery (Home to Home) in the heart of New Cross β a small, warm, and nurturing setting where children feel safe and are well cared for throughout the day. We focus on each childβs individual needs while also caring for them as part of a group.
La Jolie Bulle, which means βPretty Bubbleβ, is a thoughtfully designed and supportive space where your little ones can have fun and fully develop during their early years.
Our vision is to enrich childrenβs lives by teaching them to socialise, explore their creativity, develop their language skills, respect one another, and observe nature, so they can grow with the skills that will make them the humans we need them to be.
βWe do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children.β
This Native American proverb is at the heart of La Jolie Bulle, from an ecological point of view as well as from a place of deep respect for children, their opinions, and the fact that we learn from them as much as they learn from us.
Because we are small, children are cared for in a calm, attentive environment. We truly know each child and their family, and everyone who joins, quickly feels part of our multicultural, family oriented community.
Our setting is close to parks and playgrounds and is very well located for parents who commute.
Under 5sSpecialising
in Under 5s
La Jolie Bulle specialises in under 5s in order to follow through and be very specific in supporting childrenβs overall development.
As well as supporting fine and gross motor skills, we encourage children to become independent by putting their coats and shoes on and off, and by giving them small daily responsibilities so they feel proud of themselves and develop a sense of achievement.
Our days are structured so that all children, including babies, feel cared for and involved. Through activities such as handling a pen or a brush, learning to walk, run, dance (just to name a few) babies develop their fine and gross motor skills, while older children are attentively encouraged towards pre-school activities that are fun and stimulating. Our four-year-olds go to school confident, emotionally secure, and well prepared
We are also consistent in teaching empathy, kindness, and friendship, and our older children develop genuine care and respect for the younger ones.
The bonds we witness blossoming between the children (and amongst their parents) are beautiful, and they make us very proud of the strong community we have built within our neighbourhood.
We are experienced potty trainers.
FrenchThe French
Touch
La Jolie Bulle is a bilingual setting where children are mainly spoken to in French.
This has been a very successful journey, as children attending La Jolie Bulle become bilingual in a matter of weeks; first by understanding what is being said to them, then moving on to saying simple words in French such as βles nuagesβ, βle soleilβ, βla merβ, and eventually forming short sentences or full conversations for the more advanced.
We run French lessons every morning. These are hugely enjoyed by all ages, as we keep them very interactive and fun. Children learn many French songs, including their A, B, C, and develop a wide vocabulary.
We keep children engaged with topics they truly enjoy, such as animals, food, and toys, then build on to subjects like daily routines or ways to express how they feel.
No prior knowledge of French is needed, children naturally absorb the language through play and daily routines.
English is used when necessary to observe the EYFS curriculum.
LearningLearning
Through Play
As a Tiney Home Nursery, La Jolie Bulle covers all areas of the EYFS:
β’ Communication and Language
β’ Physical Development
β’ Personal, Social, and Emotional Development
β’ Literacy
β’ Mathematics
β’ Understanding the World
β’ Expressive Art and Design
We thoughtfully balance adult-led activities with child-led exploration so children can use their free will and imagination, build physical and cognitive skills, and grow emotional resilience and confidence.
We patiently observe, assess, and communicate each childβs progress with their family so we can support them and ensure they reach their full potential at every stage. Daily reports, as well as annual full assessments, are shared with parents.
From a very early age, children engage and interact with the world through play, and research shows this is when they learn best.
Our approach is simple: βLearning Whilst Playing!β
CreativityCreativity
& Nature
Creativity, nature, and the joy they bring sit at the heart of life at La Jolie Bulle.
Creativity is an essential part of a childβs development and a vital part of who we are as human beings. It also helps children who cannot yet verbalise how they feel to become better communicators.
We support each child in expressing themselves through various mediums to show their perspective and define who they are and who they want to become. Being proud of their work and receiving positive feedback makes them feel valued and appreciated, giving them confidence.
Making music and dancing are always encouraged, allowing children to let go of their inhibitions while having fun. These joyful moments are particularly special.
Contact with nature is, for us, just as essential and beneficial as creativity. Children go on regular outings by the river, on autumn hunts, observe life cycles such as ladybirds and butterflies, compare flowers, or watch snails.
La Jolie Bulle has a large garden where children play every day. They can run, cycle, scoot, free -play, and do a little gardening.
